Life pulls us in many directions and can change often, making us lose our focus and sometimes our sense of self. So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stressed, or just not quite like yourself, know you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with adults 18+ and use a variety of techniques and skills to empower you to meet your goals in a supportive and encouraging environment. I believe our personal and professional lives are intertwined so I also provide career coaching services as needed. For counselors (LCMHCAs) seeking full licensure in North Carolina, I provide clinical supervision.
After earning my Masters in Counseling from Long Island University- CW Post (NY) in 1998, I began my counseling career in higher education in Kentucky as a military spouse. I moved to the Huntersville-Charlotte area in 2000 to continue working with adult students in a variety of higher education settings until 2015. In 2010, I opened a limited private practice in Huntersville. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC), North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS), and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS)
My professional identity is tied tightly to the belief in the need to comprehensively develop and grow the counseling profession. I have committed to doing that through serving on the Board of Directors of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and led the Board as Chair for 2+ years from 2014-2020. In addition to supervising new counselors in the field, I co-facilitate a 45-hours approved continuing education supervision course through the Licensed Clinical Counselors of North Carolina (LCCNC) for counselors to become licensed supervisors in North Carolina.
I strongly believe in the power of helping others personally as well as professionally. I spend my time volunteering with a variety of organizations from helping to rebuild Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene to help improving and bring awareness about veterans mental health. As an Army Mom of two boys (USMA 2024 & 2028), I currently serve as the Vice Chair of the Board of the West Point Parents Club of North Carolina serving cadets and their military families attending West Point.
As a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider, I offer the flexibility to meet either in person or through secure video sessions so you can access care in the way that works best for you. Let’s take the next step together toward a healthier, more empowered you so you can love the life you live!
